British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community shared condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
