Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was made after an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions directed at young women.

The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
